Meetings
General meetings are held biennially. At each general meeting a chairman’s report and financial statement reflecting the activities of the previous two years are presented, and the results of the election for the incoming committee members are announced.
At least one conference is held every year, and meetings are held in Gauteng and by the Kwazulu-Natal and South-western Cape branches on an irregular basis.
The Society encourages and helps to arrange visits to South Africa by eminent spectroscopists from overseas to address meetings and visit laboratories or companies for discussions.
