South African Bureau of Standards (SABS)
South Africa's official organization for devising and publishing standards for products and services. Aims to enhance the South African economy by promoting quality and standardization. The SABS Co-operates with the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The South African National Accreditation System (SANAS)
National Accreditation Body for South Africa recognised by government through the Department of Trade and Industry.

International Organization for Standardization (ISO)
International Standards for Business, Government and Society. A non-governmental organization with the objective to promote worldwide standardization in order to ease international exchange of goods and services. ISO establishes international agreements published as International Standards
National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
An agency of the U.S. Department of Commerce's Technology Administration, NIST collaborates with the industry to develop and apply technology, measurements, and standards. They host a variety of educational and search sites; two examples are the Nist Reference Material catalogue and a site for Physical Constants
The International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC)
An international, non-governmental organization which is recognized as the world authority on issues such as chemical terminology, standardization of measurement methods and atomic weights.
