Seventh of the IAG’s main triennial conferences, co-hosted by the South African Spectroscopic Society and the Mineralogical Association of South Africa. This meeting will be held from 7 to 11 September 2009 at a venue in the 3000 meter high Drakensberg Mountains of KwaZulu-Natal Province in South Africa.

- Geochronology
- Environmental geochemistry
- Mapping and Regional Geochemistry
- Certified Reference Materials
- Education, Industrial Processes and Ore Beneficiation
- Quality Control
- Representative Sampling
- Sample Preparation and Forensics
Workshops are planned on Representative sampling, Quality assurance and XRD Quantification by Rietveld Method.
Pre-and post conference excursions, one to the Bushveld Igneous Complex and one on the general Geology of KwaZulu-Natal are planned.
